Locally grown, globally loved! Before coming to Caldwell , they practiced on presidents, an emperor and everyone at the Great Wall of China . For more than three decades, the Chorale has brought artistry and charm to audiences. The concerts redefine choral music with innovative choreography and staging. Their repertoire features an eclectic selection ranging from classic to contemporary, folk to art song and music theatre.

“We’ve serenaded emperors and harmonized with superstars, but we really want to sing for you!” For more than three decades, the award-winning Colorado Children’s Chorale has brought its artistry and charm to the nation and the world. With a diverse repertoire, ranging from fully staged opera and musical theater to choral compositions in classical, folk and popular traditions, the Chorale performs with an innovative stage presence and dynamic theatrical spirit. It has received the Governor’s Award for Excellence, the Mayor’s Award for Excellence, and the prestigious El Pomar Award for Excellence in Arts and Humanities.

Under the leadership of Artistic Director Deborah DeSantis, the Chorale annually trains 400 members between the ages of seven and 14. Since its founding in 1974, the Chorale has sung with the Colorado Symphony, Central City Opera, Opera Colorado, Aspen Music Festival, the Grand Teton Music Festival, and the BBC Orchestra and Chorus of Wales.

Their tours have included performances at the American Choral Directors Association national conference in Los Angeles, the White House, Lincoln Center in the U.S. plus international tours to China, Hong Kong, Japan, Switzerland, Taiwan, Spain, Scotland, England, France, and Italy.

The Chorale will work with the Caldwell Van Buren and Washington Elementary school choirs on April 29 and 30. The Chorale has received several awards for its education and outreach service. Those students will not only be privileged to participate in a workshop, but will be invited to sing several selections with the Chorale in the evening performance in Jewett.
