$7 - $11 student/child Fairy tale characters come to life and dance as if out of the pages of a storybook. BYU (Provo) has one of the largest dance programs in America with 350 students enrolled in ballet. There is a reason why children dream of becoming dancers, The combination of the costumes, the music, the dancers, and the stories is what creates the fantasy. This is a perfect program for families, much like the Nutcracker. It will combine well known music with inspiring, graceful movements. Jocelyn Bowman, a company dancer, is a 20-year-old junior who transferred to BYU just this last fall. She has a rich background of years of ballet, attending summer workshops around the country since she was 12. Her mother even home schooled her for some of her high school so she could attend a 6-day a week special program. She said, "The BYU company has already presented the dance program in Nevada that they will perform in Caldwell. I like the variety of the program, which includes excerpts from some of the well-known story ballets of Swan Lake, Don Quiote and Cinderella, plus a very demanding, but fun Le Corsaire. Each dance has a short introduction given to the audience that explains the part of the story that is to be danced. Selecting the best of these several ballets for one program makes it a fun show for audience members of all ages. This program has been well-received." Members of the community will host the company's dancers during their Caldwell visit.
