Note: Brazilian-Indian Duets brings us closer to appreciating the complex nature of human relationships. There are moments that are playful or touching, romantic or bittersweet. The music was inspired by native Brazilian culture and is faithful to the tones, vocal traditions and speech of the Amazon Indians. It weaves the sound of the spirits and the magical entities of the forest into a tapestry involving occasional colors from another world with modern instrumentation.

Note: Two narrators shares the thoughts, feelings and fears of a young couple, newlyweds on their honeymoon. The piece is witty and full of fun, and the underlying theme is universal…communication is often a difficult process.

Note: Laura Dean incorporates her trademark movement, a dervish-like spinning, and the repetition of musical and choreographic phrases into a mesmerizing ritual. Sky Light has been described by Anna Kisselgoff, New York Times, as a “masterpiece of the genre...it bursts forth with high energy and relentless climactic rhythms that can lead an audience to explode with its own energy...WOW!”
